1.8T ECU Upgrade

APR's EMCS software is available for the 150BHP engine including the later VVT engine (Variable Valve Timing). The software for the 1.8T is available in a 1.0 bar configuration and produces 196 horsepower and 240 ft. lbs of torque respectively. On the later VVT motor, which also as a different turbocharger specification, the horsepower gains are increased to around 207 BHP but with same torque. Our software is designed to operate within the turbochargers' efficiency range whilst producing huge increase in low end torque, improved throttle response and a much smoother, more powerful top end. Unlike other "chip tuning companies", we do not max out the boost pressure sensor in order to boost spike and give high initial torque readings. Although this maybe good for marketing purposes, it not only creates surge during acceleration at low RPM, but also reduces the life expectancy of the turbocharger considerably.

All APR chip upgrades use encryption, which serve several purposes. First, it keeps prying eyes out of our software and prevents lesser companies from copying the chip and degrading the product. Secondly, the encryption prevents the dealer from flash programming the ECU. Also, all APR software is undetectable to a dealers VAG diagnostic tool.

Diesel Tuning

We have recently taken on the Tunit range of modules for SDi, TD and TDI variants of the VW Audi Seat & Skoda ranges.

These are a superb piece of engineering. Simple to add on and simple to remove. Fitting is normally achieved in 30 minutes!

Recently fitted to a 55 plate Transporter Van - the power output went from 174bhp to 210bhp (with a respectable increase in torque too!)

Diverter Valves (1.8T)

Filters and Induction Kits

We carry the BMC, Jetex, Carbonio & Powertec ranges. Jetex & BMC are virtually household names in filtration.

The Carbonio system is designed to maximize the torque produced by your engine. The natural extension of increased torque is an increase in horsepower (hp). While the hp gain is nice, this system's tuned shape will give you that increased hp for a longer period of time, thereby allowing you to make better use of each and every gear. This is a consequence of an increase in torque for over 10% of the rev range; torque comes in sooner and tails off later. Compared to the stock intake, our kit shows increased flow numbers of around 40-50%. Our system is much more dynamic than the stock system, and thanks to a specially textured inlet surface, results in a much better throttle response. In the case of the 1.8T engine, a significant reduction in turbo lag.

BMCs pedigree is second to none - used in F1 no less!!

CDA filtering system is composed of a cylindrical carbon air box containing a washable filtering element. Substituting the original air box with our CDA, cold air is directly channeled through an internal airflow deflector to the filter and drawn into the engine with a very small pressure drop (patented system). The CDA system also includes a black alloy ducting (60 cm length) for connecting the system to an air intake on the front of the car. The system is available in two different dimensions: we advise Type 1 for engines up to 1,600 cc; Type 2 for bigger displacements. Every type is also available in different diameters on engine side for connections. Dyno and Datron Laser tests demonstrate the great performance of CDA filtering system.

Powertec are new to the VW scene - but their filters are very good indeed. A British company manufacturing the filers from stainless steel - even the gauze!!

All the above filtration systems provide your cars with better filtration characteristics over standard units.

Typical gains in power can be felt when fitting the right filter choice for your car. (Cold Air Intakes)  CAIs are a great benefit to the Golf/Bora VAG 1.8T range and the V6 (inc R32)

Intercoolers and more!

Jetex has come a long way with its production now and offers a reasonably priced alternative to Supersprint.

Supersprint - on the other hand have been offering good looking (and extremely well built) systems for years (we first used their 1.8T system on our Audi A3 in 2000 (featured in PVW)!!

Suspension

Tuningwerkes has a great relationship with the world leaders in suspension development and design.
We supply leading names such as H&R, KW Suspensions and Eibach.

There are a lot of companies out there. There are - however, only a few good ones with proven R&D, TUV approval etc.

There are cheap suspension kits on the market - and you will see more expensive ones too. The difference is not merely in the name. There is a lot of work that goes into suspension design. A lot of factors have to be taken into consideration before a manufacturer can release a kit. Take a look at the big names. Eibach - supply race cars the world over. H&R - Original Equipment suppliers to VW for their Golf R32s and to Mercedes race teams. KW Suspensions - suppliers to VW Racing! Do any of the cheaper brands have such pedigree? Do they have their own R&D?

Fitting a suspension kit to any car is a serious decision. Not only are looks improved, but the safety of the vehicle on the road is also an issue -that's why after years of hands on experience, we can advise you which kit is the best for your application.

Suspension bushes are some of the most highly stressed components fitted to a motor car. They undergo enormous strains and in the most arduous of conditions with no maintenance or lubrication.

The material they are manufactured from is a rubber compound containing natural products which deteriorate with age. It becomes softer and more pliable, resisting the forces placed on it less and less. Therefore allowing more and more movement of suspension components and offering less and less control over the suspension geometry.
